Helen Jean Mazanetz

Helen Jean Mazanetz, 92, of Charleroi passed away on November 11, 2025. Born on March 9, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Mathias and Mary Rose Mazanetz.

She was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, formerly Sts. Cyril and Methodius. She was a veteran of the US Navy Reserve and worked as a Registered Nurse first at Charleroi-Monessen Hospital and then at the Presbyterian Hospital until her retirement.

Jean is survived by her brother, John R. Mazanetz, of Charleroi; nephew, Mark Mazanetz and wife Betty, of Charleroi, whom were her caretakers; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her siblings, William Mazanetz, Mary Miller, Kathryn Mazanetz, Elizabeth Brennan, Anna Mazanetz, Margaret Mazanetz, and Martha Mayton; nieces, Nicole Lemonovich and Judy Brennan; and nephews, Joseph Mayton, Rick Brennan, and Bobby Miller.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Monday, November 17.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, 624 Washington Ave., Charleroi, with interment following in Calvary Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Karen and the staff at Mon Valley Care Center along with Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care over the past few years.
